What is a Reiki Attunement?

Attunements, originally called reiju in Japan, are one of the five fundamental elements of Reiki. It is necessary to receive an attunement if one is to practice Reiki.

A Reiki Attunement is a process of empowerment that aligns your upper charkas and activates your palm charkas to connect you to the unlimited source of Reiki energy, God. During the attunement, and for a time after, the body, soul, spirit, energy centers and aura experience transformation, opening and balancing. This, along with an increase in the vibration rate enables the Reiki energy to flow. Reiki attunements can help you reach progressively deeper levels of well-being, and higher levels of consciousness.

Once attuned to the Reiki energy, it is available throughout one’s lifetime. To “activate” the Reiki energy, the practitioner only needs to “think Reiki” and allow the energy to flow from God into her crown chakra, out of her hand chakras, and eyes. Ultimately, the more in harmony you become the more you radiate Reiki from the center of your being throughout your entire energy field.
